As of September 2008, Opnext has shipped over 750,000 10Gbps transceiver modules.  Opnext is shipping XENPAK, X2, XPAK, XFP and SFP+ modules to support the 10Gbps infrastructure being deployed in data centers.  Opnext ships all PMD types from copper to DWDM interfaces.

Energy Efficient Technology

Opnext is the leader in InP material systems engineering.  Opnext was the first to deploy 1310nm Uncooled DFB technology to enable low power 10GBASE-LR modules for 10km links.  Opnext is now using the same technology basis to enable more energy efficient 40km (ER) links today and 80km (ZR) links soon.  Removing the cooling built into the transceiver reduces the module power by up to 50%.
