The optical components industry is on an evolving path toward pluggable transceivers for all speeds. We firmly believe that competitiveness in “lower end” products requires strong technology to create high-performance products at low cost and we have made the strategic decision to be at the forefront of this trend, utilizing our 30-year heritage the continued support of Hitachi’s optical technology and our own internal supply of key optical devices.

Products created from this unit include the O/EPak™ line of Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers covering OC3, OC12, OC48, Gbit/E and Fiber Channel data rates and supporting data rates from 155 Mbit/s to 2.6 Gbit/s and cover distance from 300 meters to 80 km. The XEPAK™ product family consists of products such as 10 Gbit/s 1550 nm Serial XENPAK and X2 transceivers. Looking ahead, this team will continue to develop several next-generation 10G transceivers targeting the enterprise, storage network and telecommunications markets.
